CODA screening & discussion

(Special Events)

LUDWiG (Lawrence University Disability Working Group) will be hosting a screening of "CODA," followed by a group discussion.

"CODA" is a movie about Ruby Rossi and her family. Ruby, a young hearing girl who is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult) with Deaf parents and a Deaf sibling, wants to become a professional musician. All of the Deaf characters in "CODA" were played by Deaf actors, and real sign language was used in the movie. "CODA" won the 2021 Oscar for Best Picture and one of the Deaf actors, Troy Kotsur, became the second Deaf person to ever win an (individual) Academy Award.

This is a diversity-related event.

Location: Warch Campus Center 204 - Cinema
