Floral Seasons: What We Learn From Flowers About Change and Adaptation

Guest Speaker: David George Haskell, British and American biologist and writer.
What does it mean to thrive in a rapidly changing world? Ever since they first appeared, over 100 million years ago, flowering plants have adapted to astonishingly different climates and habitats. Yet, in many places today flowers are also threatened by the tumults of environmental change. What are some of the secrets of their adaptability? What will the future bring? Haskell will explore thee questions through case studies of flowers and their creativity.
