Guest Recital: Gresham Duo - David Gresham, clarinet and Momoko Gresham, piano

Gresham Duo performs works by Philippe Gaubert, Krzysztof Penderecki, Wassili Lobanow, Takashi Yoshimatsu, Rezső Kókai, and Amy Beach.

Married clarinet and piano musical duo David and Momoko Gresham have performed together since their days as graduate students at the Manhattan School of Music. Recital appearances include the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center in New York City, on tour in Japan at venues including the Tokyo National Museum and La Centora Hall in Osaka, at the International ClarinetFest in Ostend, Belgium, at the 023 NUNC! Festival at Northwestern University, and other venues round the USA and Japan. David is clarinet professor at Illinois State University. He has performed in over 35 countries as a soloist and chamber musician, including an extended recital tour of South America as a fellow in the U.S. Information Agency’s Artistic Ambassador Program. He has recorded the Mozart concerto with the Kiev, Ukraine Camerata, David Maslanka’s Desert Roads clarinet concerto with the Illinois State University Wind Symphony, multiple new music CDs with the New York based Continuum new music ensemble. More recently he performed Roger Zare’s Bennu’s Fire concerto at the Illinois Music Educator’s Convention, and Sydney Hodkinson’s Embers at the RedNote New Music Festival. Momoko is a staff accompanist at Illinois Wesleyan University. Her recording of Karel Husa’s Concertino for Piano and Wind Ensemble is available on the Naxos label.
