DESCRIPTION:
In addition to this weekend's Thrift for Ukraine,
a non-profit fundraiser collecting funds for medical
supplies for Ukrainian defenders on the front
line, we are celebrating the beauty of Ukrainian
culture through the feature film Winter on Fire:
Ukraine's Fight for Freedom (2015). Winter on
Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom is a documentary
capturing the 2013-2014 Relovution of Dignity,
a peaceful student demonstration that turned into
a fully-fledged civil rights movement. Taking
place in Maidan Nezalezhnosti, or Independence
Square, in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine, a controversial
alliance between Russia and Ukrainian president
Viktor Yanukovych led to the protests and subsequent
violent oppression of the Ukrainian citizens in
Kyiv. Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom
is a tale of bravery, unity, and a testament to
the strength of the Ukrainian people.\n

 This is a diversity-related event.\n\n
