SUMMARY:Experimental Physics with Positronium
CONTACT;ALTREP="mailto:matthew.r.stoneking@lawrence.edu":

DESCRIPTION:
Guest Speaker: Dr. Adam Deller, Scientist at
Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Garching,
 Germany\n
Positronium is a remarkably simple atom. The
bound state of an electron and an anti-electron,
positronium tends to self-annihilate on the nanosecond
time scale. Although short-lived, pulsed lasers
can be used to perform spectroscopy, allowing
for unique tests of quantum electrodynamics with
a purely leptonic system. I will review the current
state of experimental physics with positronium
and summarize its relevance to atomic, astro,
 and plasma physics.\n
