DESCRIPTION:
 Boston-based violinist David Rubin cultivates 
 a wide-ranging career as a teaching artist and 
 performer on modern and historical instruments. 
 \n
 \n
 David currently serves on faculty at musiConnects 
 and Cambridge Music Consortium, following a two-year 
 fellowship at Community MusicWorks in Providence, 
 Rhode Island. As an orchestral violinist, David 
 works throughout New England with ensembles such 
 as New Bedford Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, 
 Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Sound Icon, and 
 the Boston Pops, and has performed nationally/internationally 
 at the Peninsula (Door County), Banff, Lucerne, 
 and Spoleto festivals. David is also experienced 
 in historical performance settings (17th-early 
 20th centuries), and is a frequent performer with 
 Providence Baroque/Museum Concerts in Rhode Island 
 and Upper Valley Baroque in New Hampshire. David 
 has worked directly with numerous composers and 
 contributed to recordings and broadcasts for BMOP/sound, 
 WBEZ Chicago, and WPR. Highlights of recent seasons 
 include: presenting streaming recitals of KurtA!gaEUR(TM)s 
 Kafka-Fragments, performing in the Boston premiere 
 of Georg Friedrich HaasaEUR(TM) HYENA with Sound 
 Icon, and coaching a group of musiConnects students 
 through the design and preparation of several 
 youth-led concerts supported by project grants 
 from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and National 
 Endowment for the Arts.\n

 David holds degrees from Lawrence University (Class 
 of 2012, studio of Wen-Lei Gu) and Boston Conservatory, 
 with additional studies at the Lucerne Festival 
 Academy and Conservatorium van Amsterdam.\n\n
